Sirius is introducing a portable device that is compatible with its subscription satellite service. The Sirius S50 can store up to 50 hours of music, news, and programs. The size of a deck of playing cards, the S50 will retail for $360, and will be able to create digital music files from satellite radio broadcasts. These files can then be transferred to PCs, other players, or burned to CDs.
However, the portability of the device is questionable. Apparently it has to be docked in order to receive signals. The docking device costs another $100, bringing the cost of the device up to $460. Expect to see the s50 released sometime in October.
